More years in the workplace don’t necessarily get you more respect in the office. Why? Co-workers are younger and younger, and older men don’t want to be perceived as “that old guy.”

What do guys come to a cosmetic surgeon for? Many are seeking work above the neck. BOTOX and other injectables, along with facial rejuvenation procedures such as a brow lift, eyelid surgery, and skin toning lead the way.

Men are seeking help with their midsections, too. The most popular procedure for the body is liposuction—a surgical fat removal technique.

And it’s not men in their 50’s and higher who are seeking a little cosmetic assistance. Doctors report that over 50% of new male patients who visit their practice are between the ages of 25 and 44.

There’s another reason driving the surge in male plastic surgery: Super heroes. Superman and Captain America have prompted guys to get surgical procedures such as liposuction, ab sculpting and chin augmentations.

Whether guys are hoping to save their jobs or look like they could save the world, plastic surgery for men seems to be here to stay.
